May 17 Deadline for Individuals

The deadline for filing Form 1040 individual tax returns is May 17, 2021. Form 4868 may be filed to extend the due date until October 15, however, that does not extend the time to pay any tax due. Extensions and payments must also be filed by the May 17 deadline to be considered timely.
